Where AI, Robots, Big Data, Internet of Things are taking all the jobs and skills that can be automated, or are repetitive.

What does the research show is needed for career success?

Research conducted with Fortune 500 CEOs by the Stanford Research Institute International and the Carnegie Melon Foundation, found:

2/3 to 3/4 of

long-term job success
depends on people skills

But only 1/4 to 1/3 of

long-term job success
depends on technical knowledge

This means Human Skills are, at least, 2X as important
as Technical Skills for career success.
Peggy Klaus, in her book The Hard Truth About Soft Skills: Workplace Lessons Smart People Wish They'd Learned Sooner, after years of training, coaching, and interviewing people at all levels, found that people aren’t getting where they want to go in their careers. She writes:
"Whether young or old, experienced or inexperienced, what struck me most about their stories of missed opportunities and derailed careers was this:

Their problems rarely stemmed from a shortfall in technical or professional expertise, but rather from a shortcoming in the soft skills arena with their personal, social, communication and self-management behaviours.”
