Technical Skills?
Let’s be clear:
Technical excellence is critical for your success
We need to be both outstanding and continue to improve our technical skills.
However they are not the whole story
We also need the personal skills that we use: to manage and motivate ourselves, for planning, for prioritizing, for decision making, for creativity, and report writing. All of those professional skills that we need to do our job
And we need people skills to manage our interpersonal relationships: to converse and build relationships, to run meetings, to negotiate, to influence and persuade, to present, to resolve conflict, and to deal with difficult people
